BIG THREE MEET AGAIN SATURDAY UPDATE Kathmandu, 31 Aug.: The top leaders of the Big Three will meet again Saturday morning to discuss contents of a constitution , including a federal structure. Agreement was elusive for four years. There was no agreement between Maoists, NC and UML leaders in Friday’s meeting amid optimism They have been empowered to find a resolution to a prolonged deadlock by mid-September. nnnnEDUCATION REQUIRED FOR INFASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT Kathmandu, 31 Aug.: : President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav has stressed the need of visionary plan for the development of physical infrastructure in the country and that education was the first and foremost means for this, RSS reports. Inaugurating the Academy Day-2012 organised by Siddhartha Banasthali Institute here on Friday, he said though country has achieved greater success in the education sector during the last six decades but it has witnessed setback in the last one-and-a-half decade. President Dr Yadav said there was no situation to claim confidently that all people have enjoyed right to education however it was the fundamental rights. The education that is suitable to the country could only contribute to protect national integrity and prosperity, he added. The President further said the state and public sector have invested a huge chunk of money in the education sector but the results were not as expected due to political instability and lack of political representation at local level. Founding Principal of the institute and educationist Laxman Rajbanshi said that the anticipated changes in the education and commoners' life have not seen substantial changes though the nation has ushered into republican setups. President Dr. Yadav honoured various personalities including senior neuro surgeon Dr. Sarbottam Shrestha, engineer Himshila Shrestha, Mr and Mrs Jeffrey and founding Principal of the Institute Laxman Rajbanshi on the occasion. During the programme, senior cultural expert, Satya Mohan Joshi, honored 36 teachers in recognition of their long-term service to the school and a student Aditi Sharma for securing highest marks in the SLC-2011 batch. nnnn PRESIDENT’S SON ON TREE PLANTING DRIVE Kathmandu, 31 Aug.: Prof Dr Chandra Mohan Yadav has launched a tree transplantation campaign on a bicycle with a view to promoting the President Chure Conservation Programme, RSS reports. Prof Dr Yadav is the son of President Dr Ram Baran Yadav. The campaign kicked off in 15 Village Development Committees (VDCs) under the Dhanusha constituency No.-5 is also aimed at reducing impact of climate change. "Trees our future", "let's plant trees, save the future" and "let's prevent the Madhesh and nation from turning into desert lands" are slogans of the campaign. At least two saplings will be planted in every ward of these VDCs during the campaign, it is learnt. Nnnn
