ADB ASSIST FOR WATER PROJECTS Kathmandu, 31 July: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is to provide grant assistance of Rs. 990 million (equivalent to 11 million US dollar) to the Government of Nepal for an effective and rapid implementation of water projects, RSS reports. The funds will be used to prepare potential projects aimed at upgrading irrigation schemes, improving irrigation efficiency and preventing water-related disasters, said Jiangfeng Zhang, Principal Natural Resources and Agriculture Specialist at ADB. The funds will also be used by the departments of Irrigation and Water-Induced Disaster Prevention for job training and social and environment capacity enhancement. nnnn
