NEPAL DEFEATS KENYA IN WORLD CUP CRICKET QUALIFIER

Kathmandu, 31 July: Nepal defeated Kenya by six wickets in Ireland Sunday in a ICC U-19 World Cup qualifying match.
Nepal chased a target of 105 runs.
Nepal lost a match to Scotland and defeated Afghanistan in a opening match of the tournament.

HOTELIER PYUSH BAHADUR AMATYA ARRESTED

Kathmandu, 31 July: Chairman Pyush Bahadur Amatya of Fulbari Resort Hotel in Pokhara was arrested from the capital Sunday.
Creditors charged Amatya for not repaying Rs 44 million, a television report said.

THREE TOP FORMER POLICE OFFICERS JAILED
Kathmandu, 31 July: Former (AIG) Shyam Singh Thapa, SSP Shiva Lamichhane and SP Niraj Bahadur Shahi were jailed Sunday for involvement in a Rs 280 million Sudan scam for supply of faulty armoured personnel carriers of Nepali Police peacekeepers with UN mission
They failed to post bails of Rs.13 million, Rs 6 million and Rs.2.5 million respectively.
They were charged by CIAA.
