AMID RISING VIOLENCE IN TERAI, ONE SHOT AND INJURED

GOVT.OFFICIAL SHOT, INJURED IN MOHOTTARI

Kathmandu, 28 March: A government official identified only as
Shiba Ram was injured in a first report when he was shot in
the stomach while returning home from office at Mohottari district headquarters at 6.30 in the evening Monday.
Goit group of Terai Janatantrik Mukti Morcha took
responsibility.
Violence has flared up in the south after the visit to New Delhi
of three Madeshbadi parliamentary parties for consultations with Indian leaders who are conducting talks with leaders of rebel groups across the border in Patna, Bihar for anti-government protests , a published reports said.
One person was killed and 43 others were injured in three bomb
explosions in moving buses in three terai districts in three successive days until Sunday.

PRESIDENT DISMISSES CHARGES AGAINST HIM

Kathmandu, 28 March: Amid criticism even from Prime
Minister Jhalanath Khanal for his meetings with political party representatives without informing government or approval,
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav said Monday his interaction
with leaders on the peace process and constitution ‘wasn’t
unnatural’.
He added: ”People have a right to know what is being done at least by 15 Baiskak,” he told a public meeting in the capital.
The second deadline to promulgate a constitution ends one
month later on 28 May.

RIVAL MAOIST GROUPS CLASH

Kathmandu, 28 March: Rival groups of Maoist trade union representatives again clashed in Bhaktapur Monday.
Groups loyal to Chairman Prachanda and Vice-Chairman Mohan Baidya clashed.
Among the three injured—two are undergoing treatment in
Bhaktapur and one in the capital.
